What are folks' thoughts on a new group deserving of a new machine. This is a Unix network afterall, the AT&T 7300 (Safari) is perhap the first truely Unix pc. [I am a soon to be owner (of course)] I have no connection with AT&T except as an occasional long distance customer. Chris Chute MD Dept Medicine Dartmouth Medical School Hanover, NH 03755

We are soon to get one here ... I heartily agree with a net.micro.7300 -- --- David Herron --- ARPA-> ukma!david<@ANL-MCS> or david%ukma.uucp@anl-mcs.arpa --- Or even anlams!ukma!david@ucbvax.arpa --- UUCP-> {ucbvax,unmvax,boulder,oddjob}!anlams!ukma!david --- cbosgd!ukma!david "The home of poly-unsaturated thinking".

I also would like to see a net.micro.6300 created. Heck, I use to be a member of the AT&T family until they kicked us out. -- =========================================================================== Signed by: Rod Hart (WA3MEZ) Minicomputer Technical Support District Chesapeake & Potomac Tel. Re: net.micro.7300 I vote NO on this group, until traffic in net.micro warrents it. I also suggest a more generic name without numbers. For example: net.micro.att -len tower UUCP: {bellcore,ihnp4}!inmet!tower Intermetrics, Inc. INTERNET: ima!inmet!tower@CCA-UNIX.ARPA USPS: 733 Concord Ave., Cambridge, MA 02138, USA PHONE: (617) 661-1840

As the uninformed one who first suggested net.micro.7300, I admit my ignorance and withdraw the proposal. I think the suggested replacement name of net.micro.att is just swell despite the probable increased traffice associated with 3B2 etc. and misc. comments about voice telephone communication (remember that?). WE might learn quite a bit from the 3B series folks anyhow. Chris Chute MD Dartmouth Medical School
