I am resending this message out, as I never received any responses and I sent it during a time when it looked like INFo-VAX was having some problems. I dont' know if anyone received it or not, so here it is again: I never received message number 3 of the VERB distribution. Can some kind soul out there please send that third message (or the whole distribution, just to make sure I got the message correctly)? Also, does anyone out there have comments, complaints, etc. on RAMDISK emulators for VAX/VMS. I am especially interested in Public Domain versions. I am also interested in any source for PD RAMDISK drivers. I know that DEC supplies one with VMS, but the performance of that driver puts the access time worse than the access time of a RA81. I am looking for something that has very FAST access. I know that there are some comercial packages, but I can't justify buying one until I can prove that it will solve the problems we are having currently (I don't plan on making a big ram disk, I just plan on using the memory that the system statistics tells me that we have never used). Please send all comments to me and I will summarize to the list. Thanks in advance. Ted Nieland -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | M.
