We are currently running VMS 4.6 with Excelan TCP/IP software connected to a network which also has UNIX systems running USENET. Is there anyone out there who has produced a usenet implementation for raw VMS (i.e not Eunice) Preferably in c - since that is the only language we have. If There are no such implementation has anyone any thoughts as to what we could do (except for the simple things such as FTPing from the unix site since then we have the problem of reading it.) Please email - will summarise if anything useful comes out Thanks in advance

There is actually such a pckacge available from ANU (Austrailia) written in C with source available. It is free and we have used it for some time. It is almost a complete implementation and in v5.0 of the package they have implemented NNTP upon DECNET. Very nice. You can download it from them if you have PSI with a program PSICOPY also available from them. I can send you a short bootstrap routine that will download PSICOPY and a compress and decompress program from them if you want. Mats

This package is on the Fall '87 VAX SIG tape (from Anaheim). The F87 SIG tape is now in distribution to the LUGs and should be available from the DECUS Library. = Frank J.
