My understanding is that an XNS implementation will be included as part of 4.3BSD. The low levels (through SPP) of that implementation were done by Keith Sklower <sklower@berkeley.arpa> based to some extent on a similar implementation by the U. of Maryland; it is, of course, integrated into the socket mechanism, and supports SPP, raw IDP, plus the XNS error and routing protocols. High levels of XNS support, including a Courier compiler, client applications for Printing, GAP (telnet), and Filing (FTP), and a GAP server are from Cornell U. <jqj@cornell.arpa>. Interpress support for ditroff is available from Xerox (contact DMurray.wbst@xerox.arpa for information, I guess). If you can't wait for 4.3BSD and are willing to do a lot of kernel hacking to install the millions of fixes needed, you can get a slightly incompatible implementation from Maryland (contact Mark Weiser <mark@maryland.arpa>).
