Hello all, Does anyone out there have the format of VMS mail (*.mai) files? I'd like to write a program to extract messages from a mail file according to several criterion (such as subject, author, etc) and put them in a seperate file. What this would be for is so that I could subscribe one account to network lists (such as this one..) and just make the resulting file public so people could SET FILE to it and read the messages. Seems much better than subscribing everybody, and more timely than ftp'ing archives... Anyways, any help would be highly appreciated. ============================================================================== Tim Russell "Domain lookup? I wanted the same information a while ago and was unable to find it in any of the documentation or MACRO libraries. I never pursued it any further at the time, but with the success I found concerning LIB$FIND_IMAGE_SYMBOL, I decided to see if I could find the answer to your question on the microfiche. The fiche that I was looking at were for VMS 4.6, the card was 0284, and the frame was J-2. There is a definition there that looks like it might be what you're looking for. If you have fiche for a different version of VMS, the file is MAILDEF.SDL. SUTTON@BRANDEIS.BITNET P.S. The card which contains the index for the whole set is always the last card in the box.
