We are considering the use of WIN/TCP by Wollongong to run with VMS either on a VAX-11/750 or a VAX 8650. The latter is part of a 4 machine cluster. All VAX hardware is reachable via a campus-wide ethernet. We are connected to the Internet by way of the regional network, SURAnet. We would appreciate any observations you might be willing to make with respect to your experience with WIN/TCP. In particular we would like to know: Are you satisfied with WIN/TCP? Is there software you wish you were using or software you have chosen for TCP/IP support instead? Is WIN/TCP doing address resolution for you as you expected or are you having to use a static host table? Do you think it is necessary to have a "firewall" between your production hardware and the Internet? Can you infer what I should be asking you! We certainly will appreciate any information you can give us. I am not a member of the INFO-VAX list and would appreciate your sending any comments you might have to me rather than to the list.
