Well, the time has come for our site to explore defragmenation
s/w. (Actually long since come. :-) I vaguely remember some
discussion long ago on this subject, but that is all. I'm aware
of at least 3 products available, and there are probably more.
Please send to me (and I'll summarize to the net) your experiences
with whatever product you are using. I'm interested in all aspects,
including reliability, ease of use, and efficiency. Reliability
includes file corruption questions (is this a problem?) as well as
file interlock problems (with user file access).
BTW we run an 8600 and 8550 clustered with an HSC-50 and 7 RA81
disks (the latter probably going to grow this summer). Thanks for
whatever you can tell me. b.
