Have heard of but not tried a product called FastPath by Kinetics, Inc. in Walnut Creek, California (415) 947-0998. FastPath "connects an entire local AppleLocalTalk network to Ethernet. From there, Macintoshes can connect to any computers on the Ethernet with similar protocols (EtherTalk, TCP/IP). " There is a version for standard and thin-wire Ethernet --- prices differ slightly for each. This product may not accomplish just what you need but the folks at Kinetics say they have some other products you may want to ask about too. (They said they have a direct-connect product for single Macintoshes - that was a quotation- but didn't say what the name of that product is.)
