For the benefit of people who are unfamiliar with the situation: The VMS V4.7
Release Notes don't say that VAXTPU's EDT emulator will go away. Don't panic!

What is actually happening is that the VAXTPU program EDTSECINI will go away.
Code will be added to EVESECINI (=TPUSECINI) to provide the same user
environment.

This is exactly what David means when he says that the EDT emulator is being
`discontinued.' His APE program is a customized enhanced version of EDTSECINI,
and it would probably require a complete rewrite to customize EVESECINI
to provide the same environment. So he's going to include the source code
of the obsolete EDTSECINI with future releases of APE.
