We have a VAX here running Wollongong TCP/IP that is experiencing problems. Configuration: VAX 11/750 w/ 14Mb of memory and a DELUA running VMS 4.7 Wollongong TCP/IP 3.0 with shared DEUNA driver Problem: The system hangs or crashes with a Write Bus Error on the average of once every three days. This problem has been going on for more than a year, and despite all my efforts, no solution has been found. Digital Field service has checked the hardware several times and found nothing wrong. They say the cause is the TWG software. I have talked to TWG support numerous times and after analyses of our crash dumps, etc., they claim that our hardware is at fault. I ran the following experiments to see if I could isolate the problem: - With out the TWG software installed or started, the VAX runs with no problems - With the TWG software installed and running, but the DELUA disconnected from the ethernet, no problems - With the TWG software installed, DELUA connected, but the TWG server processes stopped (<enet - inet> and inetservers), no problems. This would lead me to believe the problem is in the server processes, but I don't know for sure. Is there anyone out there using TWG TCP/IP with a similar configuration to ours? If so, have you had any similar problems and have you solved them? I am especially interested in SYSGEN changes, etc. that were necessary. Please respond by email. I will summarize to the net if there is sufficient interest. Thanks...
