Here at rtech, the VAX notes system has recently been installed to replace several mailing lists. The reasons for doing this rather than simply using news ported to the VMS environment need not concern us here. The trouble is that there are a lot of UNIX users like myself going around asking: Great. Now how do I read this stuff from UNIX? We have news installed on a CCI machine, which is where our local newsgroups live. The natural thing to do would be to gateway the VAX notes "conferences" (I think that's the right word) into newsgroups on the CCI. Even one-way communication allowing only read access from UNIX would be helpful - of course it would be better if UNIX poster's replies found their way back to VMS as well. I would be interested to hear from anybody that has done anything in this area, before somebody here has to re-invent the proverbial wheel.
