Amen. A hacker is anybody that sometimes does computing simply for love of his art. A hacker who hacks others' security systems should be called a cracker, or the more traditional thief/vandal/forger/burglar/blackmailer. Most hacking is honorable, even if it isn't always cost-justifiable. (And sometimes, cost-justification takes months or years to appear. :-) Although the news media have ignobly, and probably irrevocably, stripped us of our proper title and given it to the criminals, I'm proud to be a hacker. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Mark H.
