DEC sells an 8 ppm Postscript printer, The LN03R - Scriptprinter. Included with this printer is the license for the Scriptprinter Host/Client software for queueing files to the printer (A printer SYMBIONT, and device setup library for managing fonts - used for PRINT/SETUP and PRINT/FORM...) The media and documentation for the software are not included with the purchase of the Scriptprinter. What this software does is translate non-Postscript file to Postscript so they can be printed on the Scriptprinter. Regular Postscript files can be printed with the $ PRINT/PARAM=(DATA=POSTSCRIPT) qualifiers. My question is, if you purchase the license, media & doc for the Scriptprinter software (the license can be purchased separately), will the queueing software work with other non-DEC Postscript printers?
