We have just installed IP/TCP version 6.3 on our microVMS 4.7 microVAX II, with 13Mbytes RAM. Our ethernet interface is DEQNA and transceiver is DESTA. This system also runs a DECnet router using VAX PSI for X.25 access. Having installed IPDRIVER, NAMSRV, IPACP, FTP, LPRSMB and LPR_SERVER, we ran a few tests primarily with FTP and discovered a problem. Any attempt to send a file from anywhere to the microVAX that is greater than 1023 bytes causes FTP to hang just before or just after closing the connection/port. It doesn't appear to affect IPACP though. Eventually, FTP times out with a QIO system service failure. This also seems to explain why we cannot spool print jobs (exceeding 1024 bytes) to the microVAX. Can anybody there suggest a reason as to why we have this 1024 byte limit; I have already increased NPAGEDYN and IRPCOUNT by the values suggested in the installation guide for IPACP. I can only assume that I need to tweak another sysgen parameter or two. Any help solving this problem would be gratefully received, Keith Halewood +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Keith Halewood, Janet: sqkeith@csvax.liv.ac.uk | | UUCP: ...!mcvax!ukc!mupsy!liv-cs!sqkeith | | Internet: sqkeith%csvax.liv.ac.uk@cunyvm.cuny.edu | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
