[comp.os.vms] Decompiler

PERAINO@GMUVAX.BITNET (04/13/88)

I concur. The DECompiler posted earlier was crap. Luckily, I wasted only
about 10 minutes with it. An alarm should have gone off in my head
when I saw that the source was only 11 blocks.
If this thing was really supposed to do something, then my sincerest
apologies to the author. However, if it is what it appears to be,
then I think we should castrate the person, to avoid any future problems
of this type.

I was mildly amused, but I would like to point out that not everyone on the net
checks dates... and that some of us on the BITNET-side of the house don't
always get the most timely of postings ;-)

Nor are we all from countries that "celebrate" April Fool's Day!

I must have missed something important. If this program works, as Narendra
Varma claims, I would certainly like a copy. If someone has written the
basics, I've got lots of improvements that can be made. I don't know why
it didn't come through to this node. Would Narendra Varma or the original
poster (I don't say everyone to avoid thousands of copies) either repost
it or send it to me directly? I would greatly appreciate it. I will in
return post improvements. (I would prefer it to be reposted rather than
sent to me directly for two reasons. 1. I may not be the only one who missed
it, and 2. I don't always get mail sent directly to me. I am more likely
to get postings.)

                                        Thanks
