I am in DESPERATE need of borrowing or purchasing a small amount of time on a VAX running VMS that has VAX C and the standard DEC C compiler. I have gotten into a jam because I thought the GCC port for VAX/VMS was going to be available by now, and I'm up against a deadline..... Space required is under one meg, and I anticipate needing less than twenty logon hours (could be done whenever load average is lowest). It's not a very big job--the program compiles down to less than 150K. I'm based in the Bay Area, but could work remotel, so close proximity isn't essential. What we're doing, BTW, is porting a risk engine for an interactive Health Risk Appraisal (based on the one developed by the Centers for Disease Control) that will be put up for free usage on public access videotext platforms. I'm in this jam because the development's been done under UNIX so far, using GCC, with the expectation that we'd do the final work on the videotext host VAX by shipping them a copy of VAX/VMS GCC. only we can't, because it's not available. (Our host VAX has nothing whatsoever in the way of a C compiler.) So, what I need to do now is just produce some binaries and ship them. fast. If you can help, I will be deeply grateful! Please reply directly to me, as I don't subscribe to info-vax. Thanks, Sarah Freeman freeman@cogsci.berkeley.edu (415)661-4791 or call (programmer) Bud Hutchins (408)335-2867 2868
