[comp.os.vms] "Stopping" Queues

sdowdy@charon.unm.edu (Stephen Dowdy) (05/24/88)

Thanks to all of you who sent me letters on the difference between
"stop" (pausing) a queue and "stop" (stopping) a queue. I normally
feel i can trust the command name to do what it seems to be saying it
is doing, but this is certainly not such an example. (Help Stop/Queue
seems to say it does what you think it should do) I really appreciate
the help. I only got about 25 letters, so i guess this is one of those
things like ("how do i synch my mail count?")

For those who want this paraphrased: (from info in these letters)
	Stop/Queue - Pauses a queue
Stop/Queue/Next - Stops the queue after the current job finishes
Stop/Queue/Abort	- Pauses the queue, but aborts the current job
Stop/Queue/Reset	- Combines /NEXT and /ABORT to stop the queue
					immediately.

Pretty wierd.
