Interestingly, in the V4.4 IDSN, the editors have seen fit to provide a translation to this quote: Before the sea was, and the lands, and the sky that hangs over all, the face of Nature showed all alike, which state has been called chaos: a rough unordered mass of things ... I guess they think the VMS cognescenti don't know Latin any more. Rg -------
