[net.music] A plug for a record store

knight@nmtvax.UUCP (09/13/85)

Our outgoing news was screwed up for a while, so my plug for my favorite
record store probably got thrown to the thunderstorms. At any rate, I'd
like to recommend the following GREAT(!) record store:

			Bow Wow Records
			105 Amherst SE
			Albuquerque, NM 87108
			(505) 256-0928

Andy Horvitz is the proprietor. If YOU live in New Mexico, and have ANY
interest in new music, PLEASE check it out. Andy has put his heart and
soul into this store, and he's delivering. You owe your musical tastes
to supporting him (and would get more out of supporting him instead of
KUNM, I might add.)

Now, to you out-of-state people. You're probably wondering why I'm
flaming about some second-rate record store in an unknown city. Well,
here's why: have you ever tried to find a copy of a well-known obscure
album (think about it) in a major radio market record store? Had trouble?
Call Andy. He has connections. Major-market city record stores get picked
over by the intelligentsia, Bow Wow doesn't. Andy has a good chance of
getting whatever you want. And he is more interested in having people hear
music than having them get ripped off price-wise. Case in point: I have
acquired records out of his bins that came directly from his collection,
and that he missed dearly. I'm sending him a selection tape soon.

Disclaimer: Andy's a friend, and found me many hard-to-find records. I
want to see New Music survive in New Mexico. I have no
connections whatsoever with Bow Wow Records other than as a
		 satisfied customer and friend.
