For others - I have hacked VN to run on VAX/VMS with WIN/TCP using an nntp server via TCP/IP. It is functional supporting reading and saving + system commands. No posting and replying (yet?) The PC version of RN could be a good porting base for VMS - the nntp clientlib is available. -- Johan Vromans | jv@mh.nl via European backbone Multihouse N.V., Gouda, the Netherlands | uucp: ..{uunet!}mcvax!mh.nl!jv "It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness"

I will see if I can do so this weekend. I do NOT have diffs made up. I don't even have a very good cdiff. (I have the one from the net, and it does not do a great job.) This I am not sure I can do it as diffs easily, nor how much time I will have this weekend to do that, so for now it probable will be a set of file compressed making up the full source. dsinc has 1200, 2400 and tb+. I will create a anon uucp login and post the info once it is created. Note that is will only be available third shift. -- ===================================================================== Sydney S. Weinstein, CDP, CCP Datacomp Systems, Inc. My rrn port is now available via anon uucp: To retrive files from dsinc via anon. uucp use the following L.sys entry TB+: dsinc Any2300-0600 ACU 19200 1-215-938-0472 ogin:- V.22: dsinc Any2300-0600 ACU 2400 1-215-938-0470 ogin:- 212: dsinc Any2300-0600 ACU 1200 1-215-938-0470 ogin:- Note, no baud rate switch characters needed, the modems will follow the carrier type automatically. TB+ will handle both 9600 and 19200. Logins other than between 2300 and 0600 ET will be not be accepted. Files available from dsinc via anon. uucp: -r--r--r-- 1 root root 58423 Jun 5 21:22 rrn.1.tar.Z -r--r--r-- 1 root root 73207 Jun 5 21:22 rrn.2.tar.Z -r--r--r-- 1 root root 29167 Jun 5 21:22 rrn.3.tar.Z These three files make up start of a port of rrn for the ibm-pc running dos. It talks over an excelan tcpip link to a unix nntp server. -- ===================================================================== Sydney S. Weinstein, CDP, CCP Datacomp Systems, Inc.
