[comp.os.vms] Fortran Backspace

TP@MCCALL.CLAREMONT.EDU (Terry Poot) (06/23/88)

I heard (don't remember where) around the time VMS V4.0 came out that FORTRAN
was going to be modified to cache 5 RFA's for backspacing, as DEC had
determined that most backspace operations only go a few records. I can well
imagine this not making it into the documentation. Anyone know for sure?
