Hi all, We have an accounting problem on our cluster that we are not sure of how to handle. On our campus we are politically disposed to give $free$ access to DEC's All-In-One (A1) ofice automation product to certain groups, but we must $charge$ these groups for any other computer activities. We would like to have each user to have only one username and somehow be able to discern between the charges that the user accumulates between A1 and other computing acvities. We have looked at many VMS accounting packages and none of them, according to my system manager, will allow "image accounting". She tells me that you can "switch projects", but still VMS will not allow one to bill for specific executable images. We are currently using JEJAC's ARSAP accounting package. My system manager has adapted it to do 90% of my required billing. Does anyone have any idea of how to handle this A1 "image accounting"? I subscribe to INFO-VAX, but would prefer that any recommendations be sent directly to me at EBIBISI@UTMEM1.BITNET. I do not want to burden the info-vax community with information that they may not need. I will digest responses to the net.
