[comp.os.vms] Postmaster%TRINCC.BITNET@MITVMA.MIT.EDU

ijah400%ivax.DECnet@GOLD.BACS.INDIANA.EDU ("IVAX::IJAH400") (07/13/88)

I'm getting hundreds of "Undeliverable mail" messages via INFO-VAX from
Postmaster%TRINCC.BITNET@MITVMA.MIT.EDU. In fact, five more have come
in just as I have been typing in this sentence... Here is a sample below.

If the problem can't be solved the "right" way (transfer agents don't have
enough information to send "undeliverable mail" messages back to the original
sender so they send it back to INFO-VAX instead) couldn't whatever reads
the INFO-VAX mail and sends it back off to everyone in the list simply
be hacked to dump any mail to INFO-VAX from users named "Postmaster" into
the bit-bucket??

Does anyone know if the current version of Wollongong WIN/VX
TCP/IP software support the Domain name system in any way -
either by resolver or also by offering a Domain name server database ?

Also does anyone know if they, i.e. Wollongong, are reachable by E-mail ?
Surface mail from Europe takes some time, and phone calls have to be made
at nights !

We run the release 2.3 software and have some trouble with
FTP get and dir from CMU-TEK TCP/IP to the WIN/VX system -
it doesn't work.

Thanks for any answer

Olav
