Mark Hartwell sent back a reply to this message, and stated that VMS treats an embedded '$' as a special character/reserved character. Now if this is the case, why does AUTHRORIZE allow you to use in in the Usernames. Could somebody confirm/deny this assertion, and if its true then supply details we need this info ASAP since our accounting system is being build based on a '$' in the usernames. David L.
