Not right away. You've got until next July to have full support. After that
I've been told (by real DEC types) that the driver will be continue to be
distributed with VMS as long as it runs at all.

As to the reason--Pure economics.  The DEQNA has not proven very successful,
even though they sold like crazy. The board has been plagued by design
problems and has had twelve major revisions. The software is full of patches
to get around these problems. This in turn as cut performance which was
not too great, at best. So rather that try to keep the old beast alive,
DEC has decided to pu it out of its pain.

I have been told that DEC is discussing an exchange policy and I suspect
that one is in the works. But as to its terms, I have no idea.
