I recently finished (is anyone ever really finished???) installing VMS V5.0 on a MicroVAX-I with 4Mb (count 'em -- 1Mb per board!) and did not notice a large increase in memory usage. In fact, I think that the "pages reserved to VMS" went down. I did notice, as advertised, that on "smaller CPUs" (does a uVAX-I count?) VMS will run slightly slower than earlier versions (I was running V4.7A before the upgrade), but it is still bearable (is a uVAX-I ever bearable? :-) ). All in all, the upgrade went fairly smoothly and I've got PMDF and Jnet happily networking me towards the finish line. Now if I can get TCP/IP to work (CMU's, of course) with incoming telnet sessions, I'll be set for the fall! --Marc Shannon CMU Computer Club R742MS5U@VB.CC.CMU.EDU (CMCCVB) SYNFUL@DRYCAS.CLUB.CC.CMU.EDU (DRYCAS)
