We're looking for tools with which to perform capacity planning and performance management on our VAXcluster. We have SPM and have been using it for three years, but it doesn't give us all the information we need. In particular, we need a tool that will answer the following questions: o When will we exhaust a major resource (CPU, memory, I/O band- width)? This tool should be able to examine many months of data and predict months in advance. o How is our system being used currently, on average? I need to know which users (and accounts) running which images are responsible for using the CPU, memory and disk capacity. I don't need to know this about today, but for an average day over some long period of time, like a month. Will VPA (the VAX Performance Advisor) do this for me? Is anyone using it for similar purposes? If so, please comment directly to me. If I get a sufficient number responses, I'll summarize to the net.
