[comp.os.vms] paks

BROOKS@VCUVAX.BITNET (DANNY M. BROOKS) (07/22/88)

Our sites are receiving VMS 5.0, but no PAKs for DECnet (product authorization
keys). Our sales rep doesn't seem to know much about it, and hasn't been able
to tell us when we expect them or who we can expect them from.

To those sites who have put up 5.0: Did the PAKs arrive with VMS 5.0, or a
little later? Who at DEC do we contact? Colorado Springs told us to call our
local sales rep (big help!).

Thanks in advance,

Danny Brooks

The only part of VMS 5.0 I've received so far is the Product Authorization

I'd suggest you call your local sales rep's boss. If that doesn't get results,
recursion seems appropriate.

I hate to say this, but the DECnet PAK was the *first* thing we got
for VMS V5.0, and it came about 2 weeks ago, with a return address of:
DEC, 10 Forbes Rd, Northboro Mass 01532-2597. I just got the distrubution
for VMS V5.0 yesterday.

Our decnet PAK came first in a seperate envelope about a week before
we got vms v5.0. I have a layered product that needed a PAK and i
just called Colo. telephone support and they gave me a temporary PAK
for 90 days. call them and say you need a temporary PAK. It worked for me.
