[comp.os.vms] TECO is available in compatibility mode with VMS 5.0

MACALLSTR@vax1.physics.oxford.ac.UK (08/04/88)

I've just opened my VMS 5.0 kit and noticed something about TECO. The
documentation says that TECO runs in compatibility mode and requires the
RSX product to be installed before it will work.
There may be a native mode TECO around somewhere: I haven't installed
version 5.0 yet and have not had time to study the doumentation in more
 detail.

The documentation is incorrect - someone probably forgot to update it from
V4. We've installed V5 on a MicroVAX here, and TECO works fine. We most
certainly do NOT have VAX RSX installed, and in any case TECO is running way
too fast to be the emulated version. (Besides, the name is TECO32, not TECO.)
