[comp.os.vms] A challenge to all!

Hi:
I am a user and lover of VMS but I am not an expert by any means.
There are therefore a couple of questions that I would like an answer
to if it is possible.

	1) When you do a show queue there is that little bit of info
about the current job printing. Sometimes it says something like:

       blah-blah #of blocks printing

and sometimes it says:

       blah-blah #of blocks printing at block #

It is this last item that I want every time but I can find NO
reference to it an any of the manuals. (We have version 4.7
currently). Does anybody know how to make this happen or if it is
possible or why it happens sometimes and not others???

	2) Is there a way to tell VMS to not do it's substitution
on a rename. What I was trying to do was rename a file called a.emacs
to just .emacs (a necessary evil for an emacs startup file). I can get
emacs to do it and I can create one easily but I cannot seem to get
VMS to do it. (I tried empty quotes, a quoted space and anything else
I could think of but to no avail). This is not important but it is an
interesting problem that I cannot seem to work out.

Any help in either of these two areas would be appreceiated.
