Sorry that this has to go to the whole list but I cannot get to Ed Wilts. I am interested in getting ARC source for VMS. Thanks, Bob Baynes baynesrt%v880np.decnet@nusc-npt.arpa

After being deluged by requests for ARC for VMS, I am posting the following
to the general info_vax area. Feel free to distribute this to anyone who
wants it.
        ARC.UUE      - UUencoded executable of ARC.EXE
        CVTARC.UUE   - UUencoded executable of CVTARC.EXE
        ARC_COM.SHAR - Shar file containing the .COM files to build the package
        ARC_H.SHAR - Shar file containing the .H files
        ARC_C.SHAR* - Shar file containing the .C files
                       You should get 19 parts in this set
To run this stuff, you must define ARC and CVTARC as foreign commands.
CVTARC will convert a fixed length file to stream_lf as required by arc.
You will typically need to run this after downloading an arc file using
Kermit or Vaxnet.
eg.  $ CVTARC :== $SYS$LOGIN:CVTARC
     $ CVTARC U input_arc_file output_arc_file     ! convert to stream_lf
     $ ARC :== $SYS$LOGIN:ARC
     $ ARC -L output_arc_file
Sorry, but I don't have the source to CVTARC.
        Enjoy!

I know someone posted this question before, but I only saw one (1) reply
to his posting. If you have any information regarding this, post it. I'm
sure others would like to know too.
Does ARC (by SEA) exists for the VMS operating system? If so, is there an
FTP site that carries it? Would prefer source code, either VMS_SHARE'd or
in a .BCK file.
Yes, I did try the BBS (The BillBoard ?) that was mentioned in the reply
to the earlier posting, but either I had a very dirty line or their transfer
algorithm is brain-dead, since the transfer kept bombing out in the same
spot!
Thank you in advance.
