     Immediate opening for part-time or full-time graphics
programmer available in Harvard University Chemistry
Department.

Job Description:

     Programmer will participate in the development of the
LHASA program for computer-assisted synthetic analysis of
complex problems in synthetic organic chemistry.  LHASA is
an application for the VMS operating system written
primarily in Fortran, C, and VAX-11 Macro.

     Programmer will develop graphics drivers using the VMS
workstation software to parallel existing drivers for other
graphics devices.  Further projects will involve expansion
and generalization of existing drivers and graphical
interface to include color, and implementation of additional
drivers to standards such as GKS and X-Windows.

Necessary qualifications:
- Strong computer-science background
- Experience with low-level graphics programming
- Familiarity with VAX/VMS operating system
- Some knowledge of the language of organic chemistry
