I seem to recall a discussion some time ago about modems transmitting a test pattern of continuous U's. I didn't pay much attention to it since it *obviously* wasn't a problem we were experiencing, but then this system programmer came to me ... Could someone summarize that discussion via mail to me? I particularly would like to know which modems do this and what makes these modems do this. Thanks in advance. -- ----------------------------------- Norm Pritchett UUCP: pritch@osu-eddie.UUCP P.O. The U's are a symptom of a 212 modem in self-test mode. Always disable remote self test on all your modems (usually a switch or jumper option). --Lauren--
