Can anyone give me an idea on the relative performance of VAX Rdb vs. VAX DBMS vs. straight RMS I/O? We are thinking of using a database product and don't want to sacrifice too much performance. We would be doing interactive queries to navigate through some data that is basically tree structured. For instance, the user would click on an item, and the program would access the database for a list of options under this item. Think of them as hierarchical menus, where each menu is pulled from the database when that option is selected. I need performance appropriate for this kind of environment running on VAXstation 2000's with 10MB of memory and a graphics accelerator board, running VMS and DECwindows. -- Terry Poot (800)255-2762, in Kansas (913)776-4041 The McCall Pattern Company, 615 McCall Rd., Manhattan, KS 66502, USA UUCP: rutgers!ksuvax1!mccall!tp Internet: tp%mccall@ksuvax1.cis.ksu.edu
