We have just got an Exabyte EXB-8200 intended as a backup-medium for a MicroVAX 3100-cluster running VMS V5.3. According to some "rumor" the switches inside the Exabyte must be in a certain position to agree with a VAX-system. SW1 (3 DIP-switches) determines the SCSI-id. No problem there. SW2 (8 DIP-switches) all set to off on delivery. The above-mentioned "rumor" says that three of the switches should be on. What switches and why? We have no documentation at all concerning the function of these switches, so all information will be much appreciated. - Anders W. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anders Wiren Dep. of Statistics, Data Processing and Agricultural Extension, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala, SWEDEN e-mail: wiren@eva.slu.se -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
