I have recently purchased a VAXstation 3100 for our department and would like to set up an asynchronous (Static or Dynamic) DECnet connection via a modem to our VAX 8350. Unfortunately, DEC has informed me that the communications port on the back of the VAXstation 3100 does not support modem control and thus Asynchronous DECnet is NOT supported. They did tell me that it has been done however; I am hoping that someone reading this can help me out. I am begging to get ethernet installed in the location where the VAXstation resides, but until this ocurrs, I am stuck with Asynch DECnet. I appreciate any help you might be able to provide!
