Tape: VAX90B Submission: [.TAYLOR] Reviewer: Marc Shannon Ease of installation: 5 Documentation: 2 Intended audience: Magtape users Ease of use: 3 Sources included: Yes Language(s): FORTRAN Objects included: Yes These are files which were referenced in session VA213, "How to Recover Data from an Initialized 9-Track Tape" presented at the Fall 1990 DECUS in Las Vegas, NV. Included are: CONVERT_PRIME which converts data from a 7-bit Prime tape to something useable on a VAX, CONVERT_RECORDS which converts a tape file to a variable-length disk file, and VA213_SESSION.NOTES which are the notes from this session. The programs, having already been compiled and linked, are exceptionally easy to set up. Information on running the programs can be found in the initial comments at the beginning of the source code. If you need to read really strange foreign tapes on your VAX, then you'll want these programs handy.
