Tape: LT90B Section: [.VTEDIT] Reviewer: Earle Ake Ease of Installation: 5, VMSINSTAL Documentation: 5 Intended Audience: General Ease of use: 3 Usefulness: 5 Sources included: Yes, FORTRAN, TPU, DCL Objects Supplied: No This directory contains the last versions of VTEDIT. VTEDIT is a context dependent full screen editor, written in TPU, submitted by G.Weck, INFODAS, Koeln. [KIT050] Version 5.0 which runs with VMS 4.7 upwards. [KIT051] Version 5.1 which runs with VMS 5.0 upwards. The KITS are distributed for installation with VMSINSTAL. VTEDIT is a TPU based screen editor. It comes with full documentation and an online help file. If you are looking for an EDT like editor, this is not it. This has a lot of power in that it can be used in conjuction with LSE. It also can be used in batch mode. Do not expect to be able to use this without first consulting the manual. The keypad is different from EDT although current EVE users may find some similarities. It is nice that the author has included a version that runs under VMS 4.7 for those sites who can not upgrade for one reason or another. I gave it a 3 for ease of use only because it does take some re-training but is powerful once learned.
