I've managed to get Xroach as posted to comp.sources.x (roaches run around and hide under your windows) to work on VMS running DECWindows. The original Xroach tries to find the root or virtual-root window to draw on, but this fails on VMS (the roaches are drawn on some non-visible window). I've gotten around the problem by searching the root window's children for a display-sized window, and then searching this window's children for another display-sized window. This works, but being new to DECWindows, and X for that matter, I'd really like to know if there's a better way to identify the "visible" root for DECWindows. If anyone's interested I can mail or post the mod's I've already made. (They mainly involve some additions to the FindRootWindow() routine.) -- ________________ Michael Hamilton, Computer Services Section, Wellington City Council, P.O. Box 2199, Wellington, New Zealand.
