I've seen a lot of talk on the net about driving fax modems from various systems, but I'm interested in learning more about what's out there for hi-end fax users connected to VAX/VMS. By 'hi-end' I mean a box that does more than just send simple text to a specified phone number. I'm looking for capabilities like PostScript or Laserjet, signature, form and logo storage, multiple-line servers, etc. I've read all the press releases in the DEC trade rags, but so far it looks like a lot of smoke and no fire. I'm especially interested in learning about the software solutions that are combined with the hardware. If anybody has real-life experience about the following devices, connected to a VAX/VMS system, and the software that drives them, I'd love to hear about it. If you just send me e-mail, I'll post a summary. Thanks in advance. 1. Biscom, Inc. -- Billerica, MA. I've been reading about Biscom and BellSouth working together for some time now, but haven't found anybody who's using it. 2. DCE -- Stamford, CT I know these folks support VMS and unix, but I don't know specifically what software they're using as a driver. 3. ?????? If anybody knows of any other hi-end fax hardware vendors in the VMS market, or who have boxes that can be driven from a serial port, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks again for any help you can give me -- Mike. -- Mike Branch, Bellevue, Washington mikeb@polari.UUCP uw-beaver!sumax!polari!mikeb
