Previously I posted to comp.os.vms for help with getting a Hitachi DK516 drive to work with a VAXstation 3540. Unfortunately, this is an unusual beast that uses a unique disk controller (i.e., it isn't a Q-bus or BI-bus system), so there isn't a lot of experience on the net. Thanks to those who responded, though! Well, as it turns out, one of our DK516 drives has a later firmware revision, and I can boot from it (in my previous posting, the boot proms weren't dealing with the drive properly). Now I'm facing a different problem. I am seeing periodic (10-20 per day) errors logged on the drive. VMS error logging says something about "EXTENDED SENSE DATA RECEIVED", but is apparently recovering from it gracefully. We're not seeing any errors reported by our applications. Do any VMS or SCSI gurus have any suggestions as to what's going on?
