Has anyone had any luck increasing the density on the floppies?
Looking at iv sideways finds some interesting strings, and I
even got it to format a floppy which it claimed was mixed density,
but wasn't. If anyone wants to play with it, try setting the
'singledensity' parameter below to 'mixeddensity'. In theory
'mixeddensity' with cylinders set to 79 (think about it) should
do the job.

On the plus side, I *did* get it to increase floppy capacity
slightly (5%) by specifying 42 tracks rather than 40 (hey, there's
always slop in the specs, right?). Don't try 43+, you'll get
the interesting sound of the head mechanism hitting the stops.
