I just removed the WD1010 disk controller from gizzmo and put in a WD2010. The operation was as easy as Craig said it would be in his article. After I finished, the computer passwd ALL diagnostics and booted up properly. I am running a MICROPOLIS 1325 80 meg drive, but it has 8 heads and 1024 cyls. I will be test formating my neighbors drive, (dont know the name yet) which has 1160 cyls some time next week and will post the results. The new controller is in a ceramic case vice the plastic one that I removed. I do not have any data on it. If any one has a Western Digital book, please look up the part number and let us know the specs. Here is the part number: WD2010B-AL 05-02 vice the origonal which was WD1010A-PL 05-05 -- :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: {mhuxu,u1100a}-----\ Mark Hilliard seismo!rochester!kodak!gizzmo!mark N2HHR {ethos,fthood}-----/
