We have remote access to this machine through Canada's Datapac
network from all over Ontario, and particularly from the Law
Society's offices in Ottawa and London, Ontario. Our usage
at these two sites has grown to the point where it's economical
to replace our 1200-baud modems and dedicated phone lines with
a PAD and high-speed direct Datapac access (about 4-8 terminals
at each location).
At the host end (this machine) we have a 12-port Micom PAD.
I like its features, but it does seem a little flakey - we have
to reset it periodically. I've been talking to Memotec about
buying their PADs too.
Does anyone have recommendations, horror stories or other pertinent
information about Memotec or Micom PADs, or care to recommend something
else entirely? Thanks.
