Some time ago I asked about UNIX <--> VMS communications. Thanks for the many answers. There were also requests for a summary so here it is: The suggestions were: decnet from DEC, tcp/ip from Wollengon, something unidentified from Create in Hanover, NH, UVCP (a VMS UUCP adaptation) from Microtel Pacific Research in Burnaby, BC or Hughes Aircraft in L.A., or KERMIT. Most comments were of the form, try xxx or call so and so. The exception was kermit. It was suggested by more people than all other packages combined and most of them were actually using it. Where to get kermit? From Columbia University for $100 or from anyone else out there that has it. Sounds like the best deal to me. If you need more info on it or the alternatives suggested you can contact me at: Phil Hughes, SSC, P.O.
