[unix-pc.general] Kermit and a tale of drives

	First of all, on kermit:

Has anyone had a problem with Ckermit 4E, latest and greatest?, where
when you exit it just hangs? Here's more detailed dirt:

	1) If you don't dial via the OBM, set modem att, and don't connect
or fail to connect the program will exit properly.

	2) If you do connect to remote system, hang up via a command on the
remote system then when you type exit it will hang forever. It
looks like it can't release the OBM or it's locks properly.

	3) How do you hang up a connection from inside kermit? I.e. I
want the UNIX PC to hang up and not the other end.

	On disk drives:

A while back I posted questions on disk drives, I never did receive
any replys that related to my problem but after snooping around and
much pulling of hair I concluded the following:

The UNIX PC has a very whimpy drive controller and that buying a
seagate ST251 solved my problem. Aging Miniscribe's apparently
have CRC problems that the UNIX PC can't deal with but a cheepo
$100.00 IBM PC controller can; most disappointing. I'm selling
the two miniscribes to help pay for the ST251. The error's that
I was seeing were recoverable and unrecoverable CRC errors on
the 10M and 20M respectively. Both drives work flawlessly and
don't lose data on an IBM PC that my friend uses.
