[unix-pc.general] Should I post binaries for GCC 1.30???

I had spent the better part of Friday and Saturday overcoming all the
problems of bootstrapping GCC 1.30 on my 3B1. To save someone elses
sanity, I would be willing to post the binaries of GCC 1.30 to this
group or unix-pc.sources. Is there interest in my doing so? It is
about 800k before uuencoding. I didn't use an older version of
gcc to bootstrap and went through the headache of using the supplied
version of 'cc'. My binaries seem to be pretty stable. They passed
the stage2 test for making GCC. If anyone has any questions on making
GCC 1.30, I can try to help.

Now I have a request I hope someone can help me with. Does
anyone have suggestions on how to get G++ up and running on a 3B1?
I heard that there are problems with the COFF formated object files
and using G++. I would appreciate any hints, help, suggestions or
diff files. I hope to get the newest version of G++ on my 3B1 soon.

I think that posting is a little extreme given the size, but these
seem like a useful addition to an archive site. Brant has alluded to the
possibility of making them availabele, of more people helped out to make
them available via INET and UUCP, that should solve these headaches once
and for all.

I think that would be a great idea. Is it 800 K after compress or before?
It would be a great thing if you can compress it down to 300/400 K and then
"uuencode" or "btoa" it.

In any case, you could send it to me in a format ready for download, and
I could put it up for anonymous ftp.

These opinions are mine and should be everybody else's :-)

I'm interested, but I'm not sure if my system is large enough. I've
only got 1 meg RAM and 20 meg miniscribe. Will the system work
reasonably will on a UNIXpc this size? The reason I ask is because
Mike says he has it on a 3B1 which I though meant 2 meg RAM, 67 meg
HD. But, whatever that case, It world be great to have the binaries
posted (with instructions, system size requirements, docs. etc.).
