Pardon me if I am mistaken but I am inclined to the opinion that the AT&T Unix PC for all its worthy aspects is really incapable of sending a carriage return with parity bit set. I have attempted many times since acquiring the UNIX PC to connect with another system using the following command or one like unto it: cu -l/dev/ph0 -s1200 -e [number] I've tried other variations, I've tried using 'stty' to set the terminal parity to even as well. But whatever the settings, the system I'm trying to call never seems to receive a CR with even parity set, and so never adjusts its speed to concur with that of my system. This is a nuisance. I can and do use 'kermit' for communications, but sometimes, I think, it would be helpful to simply use the 'cu' system. I wondered if anyone had experience with this, and could advise me. I should perhaps note that I have the 'classical' version of the Unix PC software (version 2.00), being quite unwilling to pay the price which the company wants for higher versions. Thank you very much. -- |Ted A. Campbell |Duke Divinity School | | |Durham, NC 27706 | +--------------------------------+---------------------+ |Email: ...!ecsgate!dukeac!numen!tcamp |
