[unix-pc.general] power supply

My 3B1 power supply is dead. Does anyone know where I might find a replacement
or enough information to repair it?

I know someone else in the same situation I'm afraid...and he still doesn't
have a power supply.

I doubt you can repair 'em. I'm sure you can get one from AT&T, but the price
will probably make you want to go out and just buy another 3B1 for parts!

Now a neat idea -- has anyone tried using an IBM Clone (XT or AT) power supply
on a 3B1. Theoretically, it would work, but you couldn't fit it inside the
cabinet. If you don't mind having a power supply next to your 3B1, pick
up a PC supply for $60, and hook it up (if you know what wires go where,
of course).

Disclaimer: I take no responsibility for anyone frying their motherboards
or any other electronic component with a clone supply ;-)

I know this has been posted to the net before, but here it is again for
those that weren't looking. AT&T has a repair center in California.
The prices are good. The work is good. The turn around time is fair.
We have sent many motherboards and power supplies there to be fixed.
(Average turn around time from the time you send the part out until it is
back in your hands is about 3-4 weeks. Shortest repair time we've
had is just over 1 week. Send the package Federal Express to Ben).

There is a handy AT&T repair center located in San Leandro, CA. which
will take your old 3b1 power supply and send you a good 3b1 power supply
for approximately $70.00. Thats not too bad. My recommendation is to
call them on 415-678-1000 to make arrangements for shipping, delivery,
and payment. I hope this helps.
