While editing the RS232 file via the ua for changing the baud rate for an external modem, an attempt to locate /usr/lib/uucp/Dialer* failed. However at that exact moment my drive on the 3B1 (2 megs, 3.51, 67 Mb drive) began making noises like it was searching for a file or running fsck (grunch, grunch, grunch, etc.). Although no phantom processes seem to be running, I cannot stop this ominous noise. I have rebooted several times, fsck'd, and run diagnostics. The noise only goes away while booted, while running in single user mode. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. -- Len Jacobs lj@ursa-major.SPDCC.COM
